A spokesman for the company said 150000 vehicles expected to be produced for the North American market would be affected and that the suspension was mainly due to the continuing global chip shortage rather than the recent fire at Renesas Electronics’ chip factory.

On April 5, Subaru announced that due to the shortage of chips, it will suspend the production of Taitian factory in qunma Prefecture from April 10 to 27, and plan to resume the production of all production lines in Taitian factory from May 10.
